Chris Giblin

Senior Vice President, Ogilvy Government Relations

Chris Giblin is a senior vice president at Ogilvy Government Relations, providing strategic counsel to a variety of the firm’s energy clients, primarily in the areas of electricity, oil and gas, water and chemicals. Giblin specializes in initiatives focused around the House Republicans, House Republican leadership, Energy and Commerce Committee and House Financial Services Committee. He has been involved in every major piece of energy legislation for the past 20 years and brings a sharp understanding of the various, complex aspects of the new policy initiatives that will shape the nation’s energy future.

Specifically, during the California energy crisis, Giblin acted as a key strategist for a Fortune 100 company as it worked with state and federal legislators and regulators to ensure electricity became reliable and affordable again to consumers. He represented another Fortune 100 company during the Gulf oil spill of 2010. In this capacity, he helped educate state and federal officials as to the positive effects of certain products used to minimize the damage associated with the incident.

Prior to joining Ogilvy Government Relations, Giblin served as Chief of Staff to Congressman John Carter (R-TX). During his time with Rep. Carter, who currently serves in House Republican leadership, Giblin oversaw the Congressman’s re-election to the House Republican Steering Committee and election to the prestigious House Appropriations Committee. Before joining Rep. Carter’s office, Giblin served as legislative director for Congressman Charlie Norwood (R-GA) and as a legislative assistant for Congressman Jack Fields (R-TX), both members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. In these roles, he handled energy, environment, telecommunications and healthcare issues.

Giblin previously served as a member of Club 218, which worked closely with the National Republican Campaign Committee to strategize and help Republicans retake the House in 2010. He also served on the McCain/Palin 2008 Congressional Outreach team.

A native of Washington, DC, Giblin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Washington and Lee University.
