Pelosi Aide Joins Ogilvy Government Relations

Additional Democrats Boost Ogilvy Bipartisanship

Washington, DC, October 16, 2007 - Dean Aguillen, senior advisor and Director of Member Services to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, will join Ogilvy Government Relations as senior vice president effective in December.

Aguillen is one of the Speaker's primary advisors on matters pertaining to members of Congress and played a key role in the formulation of the Speaker's agenda. He joined Congresswoman Pelosi's staff in 2002 after her election to House Democratic leadership as Democratic Whip. During this time he served as a liaison to Democratic members and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and their staffs and advised them on legislative strategy, parliamentary procedures and floor scheduling.

Aguillen becomes part of the growing Democrat team at the bipartisan firm and his addition is expected to strengthen the already-talented pool of lobbyists. "Dean is one of the most talented staffers on Capitol Hill and we are very excited about adding him to the legislative team at Ogilvy," said Stewart Hall, managing director.

Aguillen joins another recent Democrat addition, Jimmy Williams, who spent five years as Senator Dick Durbin's key economic policy advisor. Williams, most recently was Vice President of Federal Government Affairs at the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America.

Ogilvy Government Relations is also pleased to announce that Democrat operative Moses Mercado has been promoted to Managing Director. Prior to his work at Ogilvy Government Relations, Mr. Mercado served as the Deputy Executive Director at the Democratic National Committee where he was responsible for all outreach and communications to the U.S. House and Senate, Governors, Mayors, and local elected officials. "Moses has been a tremendous asset to the firm, his knowledge, expertise and leadership skills have made him an ideal choice for the role of managing director," said Hall.
