Ogilvy Government Relations announced today that Amy Andryszak has joined the firm as a principal. Amy comes to Ogilvy from Loews Corporation, where she led government relations efforts on behalf of the company and its subsidiary companies. Amy has nearly 20 years of experience in government policy and political engagement, including senior positions on Capitol Hill and representation of corporate clients and Washington-based trade associations.
“I am thrilled Amy has joined our team,” said Karissa Willhite, Ogilvy Principal and co-chair of the Jenkins Hill Society, a unique women’s fundraising group in Washington supporting Democratic women in Congress. “Amy and Ogilvy are a great fit. I know she shares my commitment to bring more women into both elected and non-elected positions in Washington. I look forward to collaborating with another accomplished woman to advance our clients’ needs before Congress.”
At Loews Corporation, Amy worked closely with House and Senate members on a wide range of issues including energy, travel and tourism, insurance and financial services. Amy will continue to represent Loews Corporation and two of its subsidiaries, Loews Hotels and Resorts and Boardwalk Pipeline Partners, at Ogilvy. She also brings an in-depth knowledge of telecommunication policy issues, having previously served as assistant vice president of federal relations at AT&T and senior manager of congressional affairs at Cingular Wireless.
“Amy is experienced at developing and executing legislative strategy,” said Ogilvy Principal Gordon Taylor. “She will exercise her talents for the benefit of all our clients. We are really excited to have her on board.”
Amy previously served as chief of staff to Congressman Jim Matheson, a conservative, pro-business Democrat who served as co-chair of the Blue Dog Coalition. During her time on Capitol Hill, Amy advised Congressman Matheson as a member of the Energy & Commerce Committee. On the campaign side, Amy was the campaign coordinator for Elaine Bloom for Congress, worked as a fundraising consultant for Erickson and Company, and was the director of the American Osteopathic Association’s Political Action Committee. Amy volunteers as a reading mentor and board member with EverybodyWins!DC, a children’s literacy non-profit.
“I am delighted to be joining the team at Ogilvy,” Andryszak said. “This is a team that has proven they can advance the business objectives of their clients. The collaborative, bipartisan culture at Ogilvy provides the kind of balance and reach necessary to be successful. I am excited to join forces with this team of experienced professionals.”
