Challenge

 

Due the Covid-19 pandemic, broadband internet was relied on more than ever by Americans. Ogilvy went to work for a client seeking more federal appropriations to be dedicated to broadband.

 

Strategy

 

Ogilvy set up client meetings with staff on the House and Senate appropriations subcommittees requesting more funding for broadband. Ogilvy also identified a Senate champion who submitted the request.

 

Results

 

The meetings with staff and members resulted in a $60 million dollar increase in funding for broadband at a critical time.
